Can books even describe it?

Is it what we fear?

Is it just hidden

beneath our comprehension?

Can we ever know?

Do we want to know

what the lexis really means?

Are we old enough?

Understanding hurts.

The ignorant feel less pain.

Youth are happiest.

We all have to age,

but the unlucky ones grow

and witness deceit
